Georgia & Armenia Discovery

Georgia & Armenia Discovery

Georgia, Armenia9D / 8NCultural Journey

Overview

Georgia and Armenia are neighbours with entirely distinct languages, alphabets, cuisines and church traditions, and travelling between them by road is what makes the contrast land. Four nights in Georgia cover Tbilisi and the ancient capital at Mtskheta; four in Armenia cover Yerevan, the temple at Garni, the rock-hewn monastery at Geghard, and Lake Sevan in the highlands. The overland crossing takes most of a day and is part of the journey rather than an inconvenience, passing through country most visitors never see. This is a slower, more thoughtful package than the single-country routes, and it suits travellers who prefer depth to coverage.

Highlights

  • Two distinct Caucasus cultures side by side
  • Old Tbilisi and ancient Mtskheta
  • Yerevan, the Cascade and Matenadaran
  • Garni temple and rock-hewn Geghard monastery
  • Highland Lake Sevan and forested Dilijan
  • Scenic overland border crossing

Important Notes

This journey crosses an international land border, and entry requirements must be checked for both countries separately — they are not the same, and they differ by nationality. Border crossing times vary and the day should be treated as a travel day rather than a sightseeing day. Some Armenian monastery sites involve steps and uneven stone; tell us if anyone in the party needs a gentler route. All entry requirements are verified by Ramada Tours Travel Agency before confirmation.
