Overview
These two destinations work well together precisely because they are so different. Istanbul is dense, layered and urban; Cappadocia is open, quiet and geological. Three nights in Istanbul cover the historic peninsula and the Bosphorus at a comfortable pace, followed by two nights in Cappadocia among the rock valleys, underground cities and cave-cut churches. Domestic flights between the two keep travel time short and leave the days intact. The balloon flight over the valleys at sunrise is the region’s signature experience and is arranged as an optional extra rather than promised in advance, because it depends entirely on weather and daily flight clearance.

Important Notes
Balloon flights operate at the discretion of local aviation authorities and are frequently cancelled for wind or weather; they cannot be guaranteed in advance and are best treated as a hoped-for highlight rather than a fixed inclusion. Cappadocia sits at altitude and is genuinely cold from late autumn to early spring — pack accordingly. Valley walking involves uneven ground. Entry requirements differ by nationality and are verified before confirmation.
