Overview
Spain rewards travellers who accept that its regions are genuinely different places. This route takes Madrid for the great museums and the old centre, a day at Toledo, then south for the Andalusian legacy — the Mezquita at Córdoba or the Alcázar and cathedral at Seville, depending on your preference and the season — and finishes in Barcelona for Gaudí, the Gothic Quarter and the coast. High-speed rail links them all, which makes the distances manageable without internal flights. Eight days is enough to do this properly without the days becoming transit.

Important Notes
Schengen entry requirements vary by nationality and require lead time, documentation and an appointment; approval is never guaranteed — raise nationality at enquiry stage. Andalusia is extremely hot in July and August, regularly exceeding 40°C, and the southern leg is far more comfortable in spring or autumn; we will say so rather than sell a summer departure without comment. Sagrada Família and the Alhambra-class monuments require timed entry booked well ahead. Spanish daily rhythms run late — dinner rarely starts before 21:00, and many sites close in the early afternoon.
