The two are linked by a comfortable train or an internal flight rather than a long drive. A half-day at Mtskheta, Georgia’s ancient capital and a UNESCO site, sits naturally on the Tbilisi leg. Mtskheta half-day
Morning excursion to Jvari Monastery and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, returning to Tbilisi for a free afternoon.

To Batumi
Transfer to the coast by train or internal flight. Hotel check-in and the evening free along the promenade. Days 5–6 — Batumi: Free days. Optional additions include the Batumi Botanical Garden, the old town and piazza, the cable car, or a day trip inland to the Adjara mountains and waterfalls.

Batumi is a summer destination — the beach season is short and the city is much quieter and wetter outside it, so timing matters more here than for most coastal packages. The beaches are pebble rather than sand, which surprises some travellers; suitable footwear helps.
